Walt Mossberg Says Phone and Media Center Are Coming

Did anyone else notice this bombshell in Walt Mossberg’s piece today in the Wall Street Journal (subscription required). He says:

Now, Apple is working on other projects built on the same end-to-end model as the iPod: a media-playing cellphone and a home-media hub.

There are no qualifications around this statement. Does Walt know something we don’t? Or is he just guessing like the rest of us.

  • He might know something we don’t, but the amount of rumours that go around about Apple, I don’t let things like this get my excited anymore.  I am, however, after a new phone some time this year, so it would be perfect timing if Apple did release an iPod style phone.

    I know I’d buy it.
