The expansion was made possible through the use of a language card that had a number of uses in the The ROM was auto-starting, which made for easier start-up and screen editing. The Applesoft BASIC software was now included in ROM. In the Apple II, this had only been available as an upgrade.
History
Although it only contained a few upgrades from the original Apple II, the Apple II+‘s improvements made it a longer lasting member of the Apple product list. Applesoft became the standard BASIC used in the Apple II line although it ran at a lower speed than the Integer BASIC created by Steve Wozniak. The Apple II+ was released with a price of $1195.
