Description
Running a G4 PowerPC 7450 v2.1 processor at 700Mhz, the eMac combined the styling of the iMac with the power of G4 and a 17” screen. The two configurations were available with a 32x CD-ROM or a CD-RW/DVD-ROM.
History
Housed in a large, white plastic, iMac-like case, the eMac was originally only sold to educational buyers. The low-end model was $999 and the higher-end was $1199. The eMac was released to the consumer market in June 2002. That configuration had a CD-RW and was available for $1099.

Timeline
Introduced in April 2002 to the educational market and in June to the consumer market, the eMac got a speed bump in August of 2002. The 800Mhz model featured a SuperDrive and a larger hard drive. The eMac was discontinued in May 2003.
