Description

Running a G4 PowerPC 7450 v2.1 processor at 700Mhz, the eMac combined the styling of the iMac with the power of G4 and a 17” screen.  The two configurations were available with a 32x CD-ROM or a CD-RW/DVD-ROM.

History

Housed in a large, white plastic, iMac-like case, the eMac was originally only sold to educational buyers.  The low-end model was $999 and the higher-end was $1199.  The eMac was released to the consumer market in June 2002.  That configuration had a CD-RW and was available for $1099.
