Description

A laser printer running an AMD 29200 processor at 16Mhz, the LaserWriter 4/600 PS had a PostScript Level 2 interpreter.  It could print up to four pages a minute with a DPI of 600.  There was 4MB of ROM and 6MB of RAM.

History

The LaserWriter 4/600 PS kept costs low with a relatively slow processor and limited amounts of memory.

  • This is one of Apple’s LaserWriter line of printers. It replaced LaserWriter 300 series. It is capable of printing four (4) pages per minute. Another improvement is the improved resolution. - Mario Romano

  • This printer is as old as the classic exe files. Four pages per minute is quite slow from my point of view as long as there are printers which can do that at 8/16 pages per minute.
