Description
Running a PowerPC 603e processor at 100Mhz, the PowerBook 500 came with a hard drive of between 160 and 500Mb and had a 1.44Mb floppy drive. The RAM was expandable to 40Mb. There was an expansion slot for a modem and an optional type II or III PC card bay.
History
After the release of the PowerBook 5300 with a PowerPC processor, Apple introduced the PowerBook 500 as a follow-up. However, it was discontinued very quickly.

Comments
The PowerBook 140 and 170 were the original PowerBook designs, while the PowerBook 100 was the result of Apple having sent the schematics of the Mac Portable to Sony, who miniaturized the components. -Instant Tax Solutions Scam
