Personal LaserWriter SC
Introduced: June 1990
Terminated: September 1993
Description
Running a Motorola 68000 processor for speeds of up to 7.2 MHz, the Personal LaserWriter SC was a more affordable option than previous printers in the LaserWriter Line. The Personal LaserWriter SC used QuickDraw rather than Postscript and connected via an SCSI port. It could print about four pages a minute at a resolution of 300 DPI.
History
This entry-level printer was aimed at home users and small businesses. While the printing quality was much lower than the high end LaserWriters, the cost made it very popular.
