Description

Using the new PowerPC 603 chip, the Macintosh 5200 ran at 75Mhz and had 64MB of RAM.  It had a 500MB hard drive, a 2x CD-ROM drive and 1.44MB floppy drive.  The all-in-one case was similar to the LC550.

History

Initially released as an education model, the 5200 was sold under a variety of names, fitting into the LC, Power Macintosh and Performa lines.

Timeline

The PowerPC 603 processor was replaced with the 603e and it was renamed the Power Macintosh 5260.  The Power Macintosh 5260 was in production through March 1997.
