Description
The Xserve (Slot Load) was a speed bump on the original. The low-end configuration had a single 1.33Ghz processor, a 60Gb hard drive and 256Mb of RAM. The high-end model had dual 1.33Ghz processors, 512Mb of RAM and a 180Gb hard drive. The Xserve included Mac OS X Server 10.2 in an unlimited license version.
History
The Xserve (Slot Load) increased the processor speed of the original Xserve and added a slot-loading optical drive.
The Xserve was geared towards education and enterprise markets. It could be used for a variety of purposes including acting as a file server, a web server in addition to clustering high-performance applications.
